Company History
B&W Trailer Hitches, like many companies, found its start in a garage. In Humboldt, Kansas in 1987, times were tough for Roger Baker and Joe Works so they started building custom truck beds under the name B&W.
They ran into a problem in their work: the gooseneck ball that is welded to the bed of the truck was a major inconvenience. Thus, the Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch was introduced. Now, that hitch is the standard in gooseneck manufacturing. As they say on their company website: “We didn’t invent the trailer hitch, but we made everyone else reinvent theirs.”
The company shifted their focus to improving other types of hitches and have since built their entire brand around it. Now, more than 30 years after its beginning, B&W is one of the biggest names in the game. The original owners, Roger and Joe, are now retired and transferred ownership of B&W to the employees. Today, B&W sells products for towing, motorcycles, farming, and more.
