If you had told us it would take over a year to move Auto One Howell across the street, we never would have believed you. This store move has been an adventure from the very beginning.
“We didn’t really want to move,” said Jeff, store manager at Auto One Howell. “Our old location on the west side of town [Howell] was convenient for our customers.”
A Temporary Solution
There was an opportunity to move across the street to 2425 West Grand River Avenue, but it was to a new unbuilt building. The search for a temporary location began quickly, but, as anyone who lives in Howell knows, suitable locations in Howell were hard to find. Auto One stores have unique physical needs that most office buildings don’t offer.
The team found a workable solution in the middle of town in the old Tenpenny Furniture store. Tenpenny conveniently had a single bay garage in the back. The Auto One Howell team moved in before demolition on the building started.
“Thank you to all our customers that visited the Tenpenny location and shopped during the demolition. We appreciate your loyalty and patience,” said Jeff.
After months of dust and change, the team was ready to pack up the temporary store but had to wait as a pandemic covered the world.
A Fresh Start
Good things do come to those who wait. As the furniture store was remodeled around them, the new Auto One store was built almost directly across the street from the original location. With modern amenities and three bays, the new Auto One Howell looks extraordinary and is ready to fill all your auto glass and truck accessory needs.
“Once the summer vacation season has passed, we invite everyone to visit the new Auto One Howell store,” Ron Overbeck, operations director Auto One Corporate.
